If you are taking a vitamin supplement then you don’t need to worry about the vitamins in your cereal because you should be getting all that you need from your supplement. That said, I would go for the organic because then you’re also getting pesticide free food.

Talk to your doctor for an expert opinion.

Good luck!

Personally, when I make my choices it’s almost always based on nutritional information and/or reading labels.

Your situation’s tweaked a bit as you’re winning your fight against cancer. I think it might be good to read up on dietary recommendations from the ACS (American Cancer Society) or even the ADA guidelines (American Diabetic Association). Instead of asking anonymous folks on the web, I’d probably contact my primary physician’s office and ask for dietary and/or supplement recommendations, or contact a dietitian and nutritionist who work primarily with Cancer patients. Best of luck to you!

Your doctor is the best person to advise you on this, but if you are eating a healthy diet, you should not have to waste money on vitamin supplements.

This is important. . . Nutritionist Doctors are not!

Vitamins come from fresh raw fruits and vegetables.

The plants PRODUCE the vitamins.

Minerals come from meat (animals are supplemented with mineral licks and special feeds, they have to be heavy and healthy to make a profit, go figure)

If you eat plenty (lots, 6-10 portions daily) of fresh fts and vgs then vitamins do not need supplementation. Also get 10 min of sunshine on your body per day. Your skin produces vitamin C naturally.

If you eat little or no meat, supplement with amino acid cheleated minerals. . .

The most absorbable kind.

Some good for you would be calcium 2:1 with magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc for infection and healing/immune system, copper. Do some research on web to find out what you may be missing or don’t absorb well.
Take charge of your own health.

Cut the white flour, white sugar and chemical/artificial additives. Eat whole grain foods.

God bless you in your battle, may you win!

try to eat as many organics as possible. fortified means it was processed to the point of no vits . . . . . . . . . .

So fortification is what they do to processed stuff. my husband was told by Docs – he would die b4 his 50 birthday, because of his cancers. he will be 55 this year! yahoo i still have him! you should try to eat things rich in “Omega 3″ oil, such as (if you eat fish) salmon is the highest, ahi tuna next – flax seed oil is the highest in omega 3 of the veggies sources. we eat no red meat ( at least not in the 31 years we’ve been married), but he does occasionally BBQ so he will eat chicken then. fresh live veggie juices are a real good way to get those vits in a live food form. also we have found that my husband ’s frame of mind has alot to do with survival – he says “it’s mind over matter. . . . . . He doesn’t mind and the cancer doesn’t matter!” oh and a whole lot of prayer – i will pray for you dear! eat as much live fresh organics as possible and be sure to bounce all this off your Doc, if there is any question at all in your mind. lotz of love to you :)

Multi-vitamins are shown to only show little benefits over a very long period of time – like 10-15 years. What vitamins are you deficient in? Some deficiencies can be due to, as you mentioned, lack of supplementation in your diet and sometimes may be due to lack of physical activity and exposure to the sun (vitamin D). I can’t imagine only eating organic foods and purified water as a cause to cause low vitamin levels. Maybe your body has trouble absorbing certain vitamins or maybe you lack an enzyme that stores those vitamins in your body.
